To apply for a credit card, you need to have a SSN otherwise you won't be able to fill out the application form which means you don't have all the necessary documents.

I have a credit card account that I had closed out a while back... I would like to reopen this account... Who do I call to do this? I have a better job now and a verifiable checking account.... I have come to your website while browsing but not sure if you can help me. My soon to be ex-husband opened up 3 credit cards by using my name as a primary card holder and his as a secondary card holder without my authorization
as we had separated when he did that. I could settle two accounts with American Express and Dell Financial Services but have a problem with Chase Bank. Everytime I tried to talk to Chase to have some answers they tried to avoid them but they kept insisting me to pay for the credit that I had never known exist until recently. They refused to tell me of what happened, like how my soon to be ex-husband opened up the credit cards, how they issued the cards without my signature or talk to me, my soon to be ex-husband's credit card number, and so on that led me to frustration. The questions are: how can a bank issue a card without my signature or talk to me? What is my right in this case? As a customer and a responsible person (I have a good credit), I really feel unsecure and unprotecte

Now, you can cancel joint accounts or change them to your name, including credit cards for which you are listed as an "account holder" or as a secondary card member. Establish an account in your name and build a personal credit history. Remove your ex-spouse as a second holder for the cards in your name. You are responsible for the whole debt, so the credit company can come only after you. But you might sue them back. We suggest you to apply to a lawyer immediately (surely, before that you can try to clear out at Chase what has happened, once more).

The approval is got in 7-10 business days or it may not be given to you, what depends on the bank's decision.
