Forever 21 Getting Its Own Co-Branded Credit Card

[Wednesday, June 1st, 2016]

Fans of cheap trendy clothes have good news, as Forever 21 clothing stores have partnered up with Alliance Data Card Services to issue co-branded store credit cards.

Billing itself as “fast fashion,” Forever 21 has 760+ stores across the country offering low-priced clothing and accessories to teens, adult women, and even men and children at select locations. The stores can be found in malls in small towns, as well as in major markets like Union Square in New York City. Young people especially love to shop there, driven by the affordable prices as well as fun and trendy pieces that don’t have to hold up, because they will be out of fashion as fast as they will fall apart.

Fast credit for fast fashion

Now women can put those three-dollar camisole and five-dollar legging purchases on plastic, with the Forever 21 credit card. Bargain-hunters will be glad to know that the credit card will feature a loyalty program that offers benefits to cardholders, with perks and rewards yet to be determined.

Alex Ok, president of Forever 21, said the company is focused on “making trendsetting apparel accessible to fashion lovers of all ages, sizes, and styles.” Ok said that the company is growing quickly and is “confident this new credit and loyalty program will be a key driver of incremental and top-line sales, as well as further strengthening the relationship with our customers.”

Mobile and digital applications built in

The application process is designed to be quick and easy, and there will be mobile and digital capability built in, so folks can use their cards and access their accounts via smartphone or tablet. The young and stylish demographic targeted by Forever 21 is a smartphone-savvy set who will no doubt embrace the ability to link their credit cards to their digital devices.

Alliance Data said they are excited to be partnering with the “high-energy, distinct fashion brand,” calling it a leader in its category of fast fashion. They plan to work together with Forever 21 to create greater brand loyalty, increase sales, and offer benefits to shoppers.

The customer engagement program will be developed using insights from Alliance Data’s analytics, and will offer easy exchanges, exclusive deals, and rewards.

A global fashion brand

Forever 21 operates in 49 countries, including Australia, Brazil, Canada, Hong Kong, Mexico, Korea, Japan, India, Israel, Hong Kong, France, China, Philippines, and the United Kingdom.
