[Wednesday, May 28th, 2014]

The partnership between Citi and Expedia that began in 2007 will continue. The bank and travel company signed a multi-year agreement to extend their relationship.

Citi and Expedia have offered the Citi Premier Pass/Expedia card since 2007, giving travelers bonus credit card rewards when they make their travel plans through Expedia.

Current sign-up bonus offers

Right now new applicants can get a $50 statement credit after making a purchase of $50 or more on Expedia within the first two months of opening the account. They will also receive 10,000 bonus ThankYou points if they spend at least $1,500 on the card in the first four months they have it.

The Citi Premier Pass/Expedia card has no annual fee and offers no interest on balance transfers for the first 15 months. Cardholders earn one ThankYou point per dollar spent and two ThankYou points per dollar spent on Expedia purchases.

Expedia brands

Expedia is an online travel agency that encompasses several brands including Hotels.com and Hotwire, a discount travel site. They also own Egencia, a corporate travel management company, eLong, a Chinese travel company, and Venere.com—the Hotels.com of Europe. Their Classic Vacations brand specialized in luxury travel and Expedia CruiseShip Centers offers many options for cruise ship vacations.

More credit card advantages

Other perks of the Citi Expedia card include Citi Price Rewind, which guarantees a refund in case an item goes on sale by more than $25 within 30 days of making a purchase. They also offer purchase protection in case of theft, loss, fire or breakage for up to three months after a purchase is made.

Travel benefits include medical help and legal referral service when away from home. Concierge service offers assistance booking flights, making hotel and restaurant reservations, or purchasing gifts.
